The House Lead for Developmentally Disabled Individuals at Global Wellness, Inc. will oversee
the daily operations of a residential house that provides care and support to individuals with
developmental disabilities. This role requires a compassionate and dedicated individual
committed to providing and ensuring residents have a safe and nurturing environment.
To be successful in this role you need to be mindful of resident’s disabilities in an empathetic manner, yet care for them in a way that encourages their independence and inclusion in the community. Top candidates are empathetic, patient, and prudent.
1. Supervise and support a team of direct support professionals (DSPs) and other staff
members to ensure residents and highest quality of care.
2. Develop and implement individualized care checklists for each resident in collaboration
with their support teams.
3. Coordinate and oversee daily activities, including meal planning and preparation,
medication management, and recreational activities.
4. Review MARs and ensure staff complete them correctly. Ridding of blister packs as
needed. Contact pharmacy/physician as needed.
5. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility, ensuring compliance
with all health and safety regulations.
6. Provide emotional support and guidance to residents, helping them to develop life skills
and achieve their personal goals.
7. Communicate regularly with families, support teams, and other stakeholders to meet
residents needs.
8. Review staff shift documents to ensure weekly completion. Delegate responsibilities to
staff as needed (e.g., scheduling medical appointments, transporting to appointments,
unexpected and planned outings, etc.)
9. Communicate the desire to implement disciplinary action to the residential site manager.
10. Communicate and advise staff through emergencies.
11. Facilitate regularly scheduled team meetings.
12. Delegate and ensure fire drills are completed monthly and on different shifts.
13. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development
opportunities to stay current on best practices in the field of developmental disabilities.
14. Maintain accurate records and documentation for resident care and facility operations.
15. Ensure all household supplies, toiletries, and groceries are purchased as needed.
16. Inform management of maintenance needs. (i.e., carpet cleaning, lost keys, etc.)
17. To remain compliant, ensure fire drills are completed monthly and on different shifts.
The House Lead will delegate this responsibility to staff.
18. Maintain updated Global Wellness, Inc., Developmental Disabilities Administrative, and
Office of Health Care Quality required training.
19. Other duties as required.
Qualification
Three (3) years experience in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, special
education) is preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably
- in a residential setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing the care of individuals with
- developmental disabilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Medication Technician Certification

Pay: $18.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
