Job Overview:
The Corporate Mortgage Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to new and existing sales and operations staff. The role involves training on various loan programs, structuring loans, and using our customized workbenches within the Encompass system. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments to ensure consistent and effective training, aiming to increase education and improve overall efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Comprehensive Training Delivery:
a. Conduct onboarding training sessions for new salespeople and loan officers, covering high-level Encompass training, Geneva Financial mortgage processes, and custom system configurations e.g. “workbenches”.
b. Deliver training on non-delegated partners (e.g., DSCR, Home Renovation, HELOC, brokered loans) and various loan programs (e.g., FHA, VA, USDA, Conv, Non-QM etc.).
c. Provide training on structuring loans and updated guidelines to ensure loan officers are equipped with the latest industry standards.
2. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
a. Collaborate with Encompass Support, Post-Closing, and other departments to identify common mistakes in loan files and implement corrective measures.
b. Participate in the development of new training materials and update existing documentation to reflect current practices and guidelines.
3. Documentation and Training Materials:
a. Create, update, and maintain comprehensive training documentation to support the onboarding and continuous education of the team.
b. Develop and distribute training materials, manuals, and guides to ensure consistent and accurate information is available to all team members.
4. Training Sessions and Workshops:
a. Determine the need for various types of workshops and training sessions based on observed requirements and develop these programs accordingly. This may include organizing Lunch and Learn sessions, webinars, Roundtable discussions etc., but should not be limited to them.
b. Schedule, communicate, and deliver training sessions, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively to maximize attendance and engagement.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the mortgage industry.
· Proficiency in ICE’s Encompass loan origination system.
· Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products and processes.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Ability to create and update training materials.
· Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with different departments.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Non-Delegated Partners (DSCR loans, Home Renovations, HELOC etc.).
· Experience with a wide range of loan programs (FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Non-QM etc.)
· Experience in structuring loans and identifying common loan processing errors.
· Technical Proficiency: Utilize presentation software such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other virtual training tools to conduct effective and engaging training sessions.
