Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations & Global Sourcing, the Global Category Leader will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing key sourcing strategies and contracts for machining, fabrication, and out-sourced-processing (OSP) support and other key categories. The candidate selected will be expected to develop the category management capability within HMH’s Operations and Global Sourcing team.
The leader in this role will be responsible for the following:

Demonstrate an understanding of the supply base as it maps to HMH’s products and global demand.

Develop category management strategies to support HMH product lines in the marketplace.

Implement sourcing strategies with key suppliers, including the development of agreements.

Perform analysis and present insights in support of business case scenarios that drive HMH strategy.

Lead and execute contract negotiations with suppliers to support HMH strategy.

Manage supplier relationships for assigned categories and for key suppliers.

Demonstrate a clear understanding of the category marketplace to be recognized as a leading industry expert by HMH colleagues and supplier representatives.

Provide category insights and proposals to HMH leadership to influence company strategy.

Effective collaboration at all levels within the company, supply base, and end customer businesses.

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Managers, etc.) and cross-functional team members (Finance, AP, IT, etc.)

Promote personal accountability for Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) and adhering to the principles and guidelines outlined in HMH's HSSE governing policy.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; Supply Chain, Engineering, or Operations Management preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of Sourcing or Category Management related experience.

Experience in drilling related oil and gas manufacturing, maritime, industrial manufacturing, or automotive industry required.

Experience working in an ERP governed business environment (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

International supplier management experience.
-
Management Consulting (Big Four or Business Strategy Firm)

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.

Willing and able to travel domestic or internationally as needed, up to 30% per annum.
