Role Description
Thrift Town seeks an enthusiastic, hard worker who will strategically align with the company’s core values and culture. We feel you should have fun while you work! This person would possess the skill set necessary to increase profitable sales in a highly competitive environment. Running a clean, complete, neat store, well-merchandised and organized, with legendary staff development and customer service, is critical to this role. This is a full-time on-site role for a Retail Store Supervisor located in the Dallas, Texas area. This role would directly report to the store manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable and adhere to and enforce Thrift Town policies, procedures, and work rules.
- Be a positive and motivational leader.
- Direct crew members by assisting in the creation and conducting meetings.
- Assist store management in the hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary process for all Retail Associates; maintaining confidentiality of all discussions.
- Train and coach new crew members.
- Maintain assignment sheets and attendance records.
- Communicate effectively with management.
- Work closely with store management to create “Success Plans” for crew members.
- Maintain work knowledge of all aspects of the store, including pricing, color, sizing, and other types of production and floor work.
- Contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the store by keeping crew members informed of any communication from store management or the support office.
- Be proactive in your own development.
- Ensuring all deadlines are met (cash deposits, reports, projects, etc.) by specified timelines.
- Use of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Whatever needs to be done to ensure that all timelines are met (ordering, receiving, computer work, etc.)
Qualifications
- Two years of retail leadership experience as a Store Supervisor: Self-driven and motivated with ability to collaborate with others well.
Must be available some evenings, weekends, & holidays
- Takes initiative to reach new levels of performance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; Bi-lingual a plus.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Proven track record in store supervision.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Experience in retail loss prevention.
- Strong leadership and team supervisory skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma combined with prior experience in retail store.
- Experience in the thrift store industry or non-profit sector is a plus.
- Strong recommendations from previous supervisors.
