Job Overview: As a Food Manufacturing Maintenance Technician, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery and facilities within our food manufacturing environment. Your primary responsibility is to diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of complex process machinery, including extruders, enrobers, cooling tunnels, distribution conveyance systems, flow wrappers, and caddy sealers. By adhering to stringent food safety and quality standards, you contribute to the production of safe and high-quality food products.
Responsibilities:
1. Machinery Maintenance: Diagnose, inspect, and repair a range of process machinery critical to food production, such as extruders, enrobers, cooling tunnels, distribution conveyance systems, flow wrappers, and caddy sealers. Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
2. Facility Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on facilities to uphold a sanitary and safe working environment. This includes tasks such as drywall repairs, basic plumbing, man door and garage door repair, and office upkeep.
3. Work Order Management: Generate detailed work orders with required components for the Maintenance Coordinator to order and plan. Work orders shall be written comprehensively so that once parts arrive, work can be executed by anyone with the necessary skills and knowledge.
4. Training and Development: Assist in training new employees and trainees to ensure the transfer of knowledge and skills within the maintenance team.
5. Safety Compliance: Perform work in a safe manner, always demonstrating proper use of safety equipment. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including NFPA70E, OSHA, EPA, FDA, Lock out/Tag out procedures.
6. Mechanical Operations: Perform set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, and replacement of mechanical equipment. Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild mechanical assemblies to ensure conformance to OEM specifications or production requirements.
7. Customer Satisfaction: Contribute to customer satisfaction by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime through effective maintenance procedures and timely response to equipment issues.
8. Self-Motivated Work: Work as a self-motivated individual with minimal supervision, driving towards improving equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime.
9. Root-Cause Analysis: Use data and specific procedures to determine root-cause failure and strive to correct the problem versus the symptom.
10. Documentation: Document all work in CMMS-SAP on a timely basis to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
· Proficiency in mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical skills.
· Welding experience is desirable.
· Ability to work at heights with proper fall protection equipment.
· Strong attention to detail, mechanical intuition, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Basic computer skills and the ability to use maintenance work order scheduling systems.
· Physical capability to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, lifting, and operating hand and power tools.
