POSITION SUMMARY
Manage processes in the supply chain to effectively maintain appropriate inventory levels and service level to meet company objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages development and implements procedures to ensure appropriate coverage of demand in warehouses, while maintaining ideal levels of inventory and service level to clients.
- Oversees contact between marketing, sales, production facilities (including co-packers) and transportation to provide timely communication, production, and delivery of customer orders.
- Functions as a proactive problem solver to evaluate current inventory levels and service levels to warehouses and implement strategy to improve performance if necessary.
- Identify trends; gather and maintain data requirements for forecast; report the variances; forecast monthly, quarterly and annual variances in collaboration with sales team; forecast production schedule based on models and data; communicate schedule, changes and forecast issues with internal departments.
- Develop planning tools in collaboration with Raw Material Procurement; plan and determine aged materials to finished goods production.
- Review and determine inventory levels and days of production; create models, analyze data and improve forecast models by product, period, supplier and the overall company annual plan; implement internal techniques and procedures to manage the company’s planning and structuring of finished goods inventory
- Maintain SAP information of respective areas related to the department.
- Manage Demand Program Analyst(s) working in Mexico for US OU.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years’ equivalent work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years logistics and product management experience
- Scheduling & inventory management experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA’s)
- Proficient knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
- Extensive overall logistics experience. Ability to understand complex technical information and business terms.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines through sound project management, prioritization.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish reading, writing & speaking. Professional proficiency preferred.
- Ability to communicate with others in an effective and concise manner.
- Previous experience with materials, planning, and production modules of SAP is preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Working knowledge of sales, marketing, and demand planning
- Knowledge of the principles of optimization and how optimization is performed using software packages
- Familiarity with network optimization, inventory optimization, product flow analysis, operations planning, and cost to serve analysis.
- Knowledge of product management methodologies, concepts, processes, and documentation.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work independently
- Possess strong analytical skills in reviewing data to identify trends and opportunities
- Knowledge of supply chain functions, forecasting tools/software
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work in an environmentally controlled office environment. Position may require overnight/air travel up to 20% of the time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting, standing, bending, stooping, for up to 8 hours a day.
