As an Oil Lab Technician, every day is an adventure! In your first 6 months, you will become proficient at running a variety of tests used to determine the condition of lubricants and the machines they came from.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary function of the Laboratory Oil Technician is to process oil samples in an efficient manner and in accordance with our guidelines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Test daily incoming oil samples following documented laboratory work instructions.
2. Make all measurements required for testing in accordance with proper laboratory procedures .
3. Produce high quality, accurate test data following all requirements of the Insight Quality System.
4. Enter test results into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software.
5. Complete a training program for all test methods to be performed by the technician. Some test methods will be required to be learned, as defined in the Technician Levels or at the discretion of the Laboratory Supervisor. Initial training is expected to be completed within the deadline specified in the Technician Levels.
6. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
7. Provide training and support to other technicians when needed.
8. Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on equipment.
9. Troubleshoot basic problems with equipment.
10. Perform the work required for non-routine projects as defined by the Laboratory Manager.
Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures.
- Ability to follow proper laboratory practices and general scientific practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to manage, plan and prioritize multiple tasks in a flexible and responsive manner.
- Good verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to be a team player and work with a variety of people, customers, subcontractors, vendors.

Education & Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
