- Efficiently schedule and dispatch vehicles; manage dispatch-related deviations when necessary CLI software experience preferred.
- Respond to customer service requests with availability of vehicles for specified customer pick up times and locations
- Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes
- Reconfirm all reservation details when clients call
- Manage performance and day to day operations of the dispatching department, warehouse and drivers.
- Manage and report on team performance and department progress to Terminal Manager
- Communicate with drivers to prioritize loads, define routes and set schedules
- Monitor containers to prevent demurrage and storage fees
- Accepting & scheduling loads and providing excellent customer service
- Make routing decisions that satisfy customer expectations and company financial decisions
- Ensure that shipping data is entered into system timely and accurately
- Drayage experience preferred.
Requirements:
- A strong trucking/logistics background
- An ability to thoroughly learn complex computer systems
