We are seeking experienced Cooks to join our team for ongoing contract roles!
EXPERIENCED HIGH VOLUME PREP COOK/COOK NEEDED TO WORK ASAP!
The ideal candidate will have recent experience as a Cook, Line Cook, Prep Cook, Kitchen Staff, Cooking, Baking, Baker, Chef, or another cook position.
- Setting up and sanitizing workstations.
- Following prep lists created by chefs.
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients to be used in the cooking process.
- Making simple dishes, such as entrees or salads.
- Guaranteeing all food items are properly stored and easily available.
- Assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise.
- Operates a variety of kitchen equipment, Measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, cuts and shreds fruits and vegetables.
- Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
- Dispensing plates to wait staff to be served, cleaning plates for dishwashing,
- Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.
- Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers.
- Keeping a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.
Prep Cook Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary school training would be advantageous.
- Experience as a prep cook
- Must have at least 1 year of Cook experience, or closely related cooking experience within a high volume restaurant
- Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Requires food knowledge pertaining to Soups, Sauté, Broiler, Fry, and Pantry
- Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
