Park County RE2 is currently looking for an experienced and qualified Building Trades Teacher for next school year.
DESCRIPTION The mission of the Building Trades Teacher is to provide each student with the ability to apply building construction techniques. The CTE Building Trades Department strives to provide career pathway learning experiences that respect the diversity of our students. The Building Trades Teacher will teach Construction/Building Trades lessons so that students learn the skills, knowledge, and abilities commensurate with the program's goals while effectively using materials and equipment utilized in the construction trades. The CTE teacher carries out the assigned program content standards and career awareness, including industry standards and practices.
The primary intent of the Construction Trades courses is to:
· Introduce students to construction tools, building materials, and work safety.
- Implement communication skills and professional demeanor to advance best work practices.
- Develop skills in print reading, estimating, codes and regulations relevant to the construction industry.
- Apply building construction techniques and analyze the theories and principles fundamental to building science from the small details and tricks-of-the-trade to the big picture.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Teaches courses as assigned within instructor work load guidelines and meets all scheduled classes unless the class has been canceled
- Provides leadership for attendance improvement efforts; Monitors and organizes attendance functions (letters, phone calls, meetings, truancy events).
- Provides adequate preparation of the course material for all assigned courses.
- Supervises and enforces appropriate safety procedures.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the approved program curriculum and syllabi and participates in cooperative planning with colleagues.
EDUCATION &LICENSES (REQUIRED)
- Currently hold a Colorado Teaching or Special Skill Provider license or have licensure application in process (must upload license or in process documentation to application)
- Construction/ Building Trades experience
- Applicants applying for a Career/Technical Education position must be CTE certified or be willing to gain CTE certification.
EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED)
- Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required (industry hours can possibly be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree)
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Construction/ Building Trades experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; willingness to communicate frequently with families regarding school curriculum and student progress.

Pay: $39,650.00 - $55,175.00 per year
