Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our small team of professionals. We are a new school, with small classroom sizes, offering easy morning hours, within a caring and supportive environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing quality education and care to our students. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to create a positive and nurturing learning environment. You also need to know how to extend and remediate lessons for students, as it is a mixed-age classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate and engaging lesson plans and curriculum in Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science for a mixed age classroom, grades 3-6.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where students treat each other in a kind and considerate way
- Assess and monitor the progress of each child, both formally and informally
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive educational program
- Create meaningful relationships with parents and caregivers regarding their student's development and progress
- Provide individualized attention and support to children who require additional assistance
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other relevant information
- Have the ability to remediate and extend lessons for multiple groups of learners in a mixed-age classroom
- Attend monthly staff meetings, write bi-weekly newsletters, and hold conferences and write report cards twice during the academic year
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in early childhood education
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children in grades 3-6 in an educational setting
-Previous experience creating engaging curriculum
- Strong understanding of elementary teaching principles
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively educate, engage, and inspire young learners
