SUMMARY:
Participate in complex technical activities associated with the operation of medical imaging equipment in
Radiology. Contribute in activities in the department ensuring accuracy and completeness of work, and
adherence to established Radiology, Medical Clinic of Houston, and the Code of Conduct policies and
procedures. Provide excellent customer service and positive outcomes during conflict resolution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Responsibilities
1. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to operate a mammography unit to provide images
and complex data for determining medical treatment/diagnosis.
2. Manage patient workflow for mammography patients.
3. Maintain a professional and clean environment for the Mammography Department at all times.
4. Monitor Synpase RIS schedule for all procedures; setup and explain procedures; position patients
for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices required; report
any changes in patient’s condition.
5. Ensure customer service is provided in a timely manner.
6. Ensures all procedures in mammography are interpreted in a timely manner.
7. Consult with supervisor or manager for problem solving and/or changes in procedures.
8. Report incidents in a timely manner not exceeding 24 hours.
9. Coordinate the daily cleaning, periodical preventive maintenance of the equipment in X-ray.
10. Assist with developing, reviewing, and updating of mammography protocols and procedures.
11. Perform periodical evaluation of mammography protocols and procedures, under the direction of
the Radiologists, to determine quality assurance and/or additional projections requirements.
12. Serve as a mentor and resource to train less experienced technologists.
13. Maintain a safe working environment.
14. Ensure the Mammography Departments complies with all State and Federal regulations, as
applicable to the areas of responsibility.
15. Maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate late add-on patients.
16. Adhere to the Radiology and Clinic Policy and Procedures and the Code of Conduct.
17. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Specific Areas of Responsibilities Intradepartment
1. Ensures adequate supplies are ordered and maintains par level products in Radiology
2. Develops a working relationship with Physicians, all Clinic personnel, and Managers to ensure
overall Clinic standards are met.
Mammography
1. Ensures ACR and MQSA compliance.
2. Coordinates and schedules call backs. Tracks and monitors timely reporting.
3. Effectively communicates with MCH Physicians, Radiologists, and Clinical personnel as it relates
to delivering mammography services.

Radiologists
1. Act as the liason and maintain an open line of communication between the Radiologists and staff.
2. Communicates all potential interruptions of Radiology services and submits action plans to
Manager and Radiologists.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
- Education, Experience, and Knowledge
1. Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
2. Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
Must be certified in Mammography.
3. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
4. Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.

- Be able to lift up to 50 lb.
