Job Overview:
LCB Senior Living, LLC is seeking a dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team at [specific community name]. The Activity Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of activities to meet the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of residents
- Collaborate with the Activities Director to create a diverse calendar of events including memory care programs, recreational therapy sessions, and social gatherings
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Support residents with dementia care by providing appropriate stimulation and engagement
- Coordinate with caregivers and social workers to ensure holistic care for residents
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment within the community
- Implement programs that promote overall well-being and independence for seniors
- Document resident participation and progress in activity programs
Qualifications:
- Experience in memory care, caregiving, event planning, social work, assisted living, or recreational therapy preferred
- Knowledge of home community care practices and senior care principles
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and their importance in senior care
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and strategies
- Compassionate attitude towards working with older adults
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
