Position: Special Education Paraprofessional

Job Overview: The school in Chatsworth, CA, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), assisting in their academic, social, and behavioral development. Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
- Assist the special education teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing instructional material and addressing specific learning needs.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a structured and supportive environment.
Behavioral Support:
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by the special education teacher or behavior specialist.
- Monitor and document student behavior, providing feedback to the teacher and support team.
- Use positive reinforcement and other strategies to support students’ social and emotional development.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders or other special needs is preferred.
- Knowledge of special education practices and behavior management techniques.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
