We are currently seeking a very hands-on Senior Accountant reporting to the Corporate Controller who will be responsible for managing all financial related functions within the company.
Responsibilities include:
- Financial reporting. Monthly preparation of internal financial statements including variance analysis and narrative describing financial results. Process includes journal entries, expense analysis and detailed balance sheet account reconciliation.
- Forecasting. Interact with executives throughout the company to understand anticipated spending and provide accurate estimates of planned spending for the month.
- Audit. Oversee interim and year-end audits, including preparation of GAAP financials statements, footnotes and all supporting schedules.
- Banking. Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts (including merchant processor accounts).
- Tax. Provide required information to the company's tax preparer. Ensure quarterly estimated payments are made timely. Review draft tax returns for all entities.
- Accounts Payable. Oversee accounting assistant to insure accuracy of accounts payable input. Cut checks. Issue 1099s.
- Sales Tax. Manage sales tax reporting and monitor all of the company's activities to ensure we are collecting and remitting sales tax in all jurisdictions where the company has a tax nexus. Review data used by third party company in return preparation.
- VAT/GST. Monitor all of the company's activities to ensure we are collecting and remitting VAT/GST in all jurisdictions where required. File periodic returns and remit payments.
- Other tasks as needed by the Corporate Controller or COO.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of three years' experience as Accountant or Sr. Accountant
- Experience working with automated accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
- Background in financial statement preparation and balance sheet account reconciliation
- Experience with ADP payroll, QuickBooks and Avalara (sales tax) greatly preferred.
- Must be comfortable using Excel, Word, Adobe and other office applications.
- Software industry experience a plus
- Excellent attention to detail is a must.
