The Staff Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant focus on General ledger accounting. This position is also responsible for supporting management in conducting key activities such as Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End close, Fixed Assets, Account Reconciliations and Audits.
Essential Job Functions:
I. Prepare general ledger entries and appropriate reconciliations for month-end, quarterly and year- end closing.
2. Assist with Balance Sheet preparation and Monthly Account reconciliations.
3. Perform credit card reconciliations.
4. Maintain and update Fixed Assets module including depreciation recognition
5. Assist with annual external audit. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit.
6. File and maintain all journal entries for internal and audit purposes.
7. Asist in automating processes procedures.
8. Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
9. Protect the Company by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Experience and Education:
BS degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
3 or more years of progressively responsible experience for a mid-size company. Previous Cemetery/Mortuary experience desirable.
Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Quick Books and AS/400 knowledge preferred.

Working Conditions
The Staff Accountant will work in an office environment and may be required to work extended hours during peak periods. Occasional travel may be required.
