Position Summary:
The Composite Technician manufactures the fiberglass reinforced plastic (composite) parts needed to construct components of a boat/yacht while following build specifications in a safe and organized work area. These composite components include the hulls, decks, superstructures, and other small and medium parts required. We are looking for a dependable, personable individual who has an eye for quality and is willing to learn. Composite experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individual that shows willingness to work hard and is enthusiastic about learning a new trade.
Job Responsibilities:

With with team members to build specific composite parts per specifications prescribed on the Tiara Yachts work instructions

With minimal supervision, lay-up or fabrication of engineered composite (fiberglass) structures
-
Communicates the current product, process or material constraints or issues to the team leader
-
Must be accustomed to physical tasks for long periods of time. This includes, but not limited to, standing, lifting, bending, climbing, using your hands and working with various materials

Must have basic computer knowledge
-
Must have the ability to pay attention to details and self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are minimized
-
Validation of process and product is critical to quality specifications
-
Assists with training team members to develop job knowledge and improve performance
-
Maintain daily labor tracking records
-
Have the ability to prepare, use and maintain composite tools, including resin dispensing equipment
-
Ability to use grinding, cutting and trimming tools
-
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management
-
As a Composite Technician, it includes working on open molding, closed molding and infusion.
Education and Experience:
Composite Technician:
-
High School graduate or equivalent preferred

Must practice PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies as mandated per area. (Use safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, etc.)
