JOB TITLE: Director, Purchasing
FLSA: Exempt
REPORTS TO: VP of Operations
OBJECTIVE
Responsible for leading and coordinating the purchasing efforts to lower the cost of construction while maintaining or improving build times, product quality and customer satisfaction. The Director works to ensure that all Regions and Areas are allocated the appropriate resources from centralized Purchasing and implements Purchasing initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Lead effort to improve company budgeting, PO, and variance process.
Ø Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the objectives of the purchasing program company wide.
Ø Identify additional areas of potential purchasing savings.
Ø Provide analysis of labor and material cost by cost code for corporate and field management.
Ø Negotiate and implement contracts for all items related to home construction.
Ø Provide management and leadership for the department while maintaining clear
Ø communication between management and field.
Ø Manage and implement an effective take-off, estimating and drawing process
Ø Manage the vendor programs and process to ensure accurate contract performance and
Ø quality products.
Ø Negotiate, implement and manage vendor rebate programs.
Ø Provide leadership of the user groups in the definition and implementation of the purchasing
Ø Systems (BMT, Punch List Manager, Sales Simplicity).
QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Bachelors’ degree in Construction, Business, Architecture Engineering or related field experience preferred.
Ø Minimum 5+ years of purchasing management experience.
Ø Minimum 7+ years previous related home builder purchasing experience.
Ø Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to build quality relationships with suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, and team members.
Ø Proficient in the Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ø Previous experience with Brix, Hyphen (BuildPro/SupplyPro) experience preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
