Job Description
Batteries Plus Bulbs is hiring a Retail Sales / Customer Service and Repair Technician for its stores. The ideal candidates will be comfortable with small electronic device repair, exhibit retail sales skills, possess excellent customer service and relationship building skills, demonstrate a basic understanding of electronics, and possess an ability to communicate with management. This position offers the ability to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new opportunity with Batteries Plus Bulbs. In addition to the repair technician responsibilities, the successful candidates will also be a team member responsible for selling all of the products associated with the Batteries Plus Bulbs operation.
Retail Sales Associate - Customer Service Duties
- Assist retail and commercial customers in the purchase of batteries and light bulbs. (training provided)
- Replace batteries in vehicles, watches, key fobs, cell phones, and more. (training provided)
- Maintain properinventory by stocking and facing shelves.
- Add-on and upsell product.
- Maintaining store appearance and cleanliness Tech Duties
- Repair cell phones, tablets, and other devices as needed
- Receive, pack and ship these devices
- Maintain proper inventory
- Provide live camera-based remote support (i.e., Skype) for in-store device repairs
Qualifications
- H.S. diploma/equivalent plus 3-6+ months customer service experience preferred
- Demonstrated technical aptitude. Able to quickly pick up on new processes and technologies without a lot of guidance
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and track multiple commitments; effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; strong customer service focus; ability to inform, teach, and train
- Good technical writing skills preferred
- Working conditions are typical for a retail environment
- This position requires the employee to regularly use hands to handle or touch electronic products. The position also requires the employee to regularly use a computer and other office equipment, as well as tools.
- This position requires lifting 10-20lbs on a regular and frequent basis, 50lbs on an occasional basis, and more than 50lbs on an infrequent basis. Customer Support Technician Batteries Plus Bulbs has an opportunity for an individual to work in our Customer Support sector of the Repair Operations Department. This person would work in a team oriented environment providing repair support to all our Corporate and Franchise locations. An ideal candidate would have worked in a customer support department where they utilize data base systems, web research and collaborative problem solving methods to provide superior support to our stores.
Customer Service
- Interface with corporate and franchise stores on inquires and problematic issues
- Maintain call log, problem resolution of proficiency standards, and customer satisfaction levels.
- Escalate problem situations to management when necessary
- Develop program and device expertise to provide device repair support Repair Product Support
- Repair cell phones, tablets, light fixtures and other devices as needed Participate in formal training of store associates to include tearing down devices, taking photos, assisting with video training production
- Work cross-functionally with Repair Technicians and Inventory Specialists to ensure timely completion of repairs and for technical inquires.
- Provide live camera-based remote support for in-store device repairs
- Follow all safety rules and regulations; wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent required with relevant experience required.
- 1 - 2 years of previous customer service experience; previous experience in electronic or device repair a plus.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude. Able to quickly pick up on new processes and technologies without a lot of guidance
- Demonstrated problem solving skills. Duties require the ability of the use of judgment in minor decisions and use of some judgment as to the method of performance. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work with relative independence on regular, routine duties, referring questionable situations to supervisor or others Strong presentation and customer service focus. Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and in a team environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to obtain information and data that requires professionalism and tact. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and track multiple commitments; effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines Knowledge of MS Word, Excel

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
