The Opportunity
DAT is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Beaverton, OR or Denver, CO.
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer that is passionate about building great customer-facing software. You will be working in a full stack TypeScript ecosystem (Node/Angular) to develop code that is reliable, maintainable, and scalable. Senior Software Engineers at DAT participate and coordinate across teams and are evaluated at least in part based on their team's outcomes.
In this role you will tackle a variety of tasks, from building microservices to creating compelling user experiences on top of the latest web technologies. You will be part of a team that designs, develops, tests, and delivers solutions through our CI/CD environments and deploy solutions to our customers hosted on AWS.
It is important to note that this is a backend focused role with an emphasis on microservices architecture.

What You'll Do
- Design and develop reliable, scalable, and maintainable software solutions
- Participate in design/code reviews
- Coach and mentor other team members in areas of expertise (such as TypeScript, AWS solutions, and REST APIs)
- Write unit, integration, and functional tests, and guide others in doing the same
- Lead team members to improve development processes and practices
- Document software designs and project tasks
- Decompose product requests into estimable plans with noted dependency chains
- Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design
- Translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications
The Skills and Experience You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience, plus.
- 8+ years' experience in software development with demonstrated experience working full stack
- Expertise using modern server frameworks (ideally Node.js) to build microservices and/or REST APIs
- Expertise developing using containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and/or serverless technologies (Lambdas)
- Expertise using web UI frameworks such as Typescript, React or Angular to build web UI's
- Competency with build and deployment in AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience building and maintaining both relational and non-relational databases
- Experience with Scrum/Agile SDLC
- Invested in the professional growth and development of individuals and teams
- Competency with unit testing and TDD
- Outstanding interpersonal, written communication skills
- Adept at building professional bridges with professionals from a wide range of disciplines
- Nice To Have:
- Experience with legacy software systems and replacement.
- Understanding of advanced security practices and implementation.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of large-scale systems.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in the logistics space specifically the trucking industry or related domain

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $120,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
