OVERVIEW:
Live events production company located in (Eastside) Los Angeles, California. Company provides creative solutions, technical production (lights, stage, sound, video, décor), logistical support services, event management and more. The Warehouse Manager position is vital to the operations, they work to improve Warehouse organization and the efficiency with which the Warehouse team completes projects. In addition to supervising staff and maintaining the warehouse facility and production fleet, they will ensure that all equipment is scheduled, delivered, returned, and re-scanned back into the warehouse after every usage. This role will report directly to the executive management, performing wide-ranging tasks in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Oversees entire warehouse operation, including directly managing department supervisors.
- Maintains general tidiness and organization of the warehouse.
- Oversees receiving, warehousing, rental, distribution, and shipping operations.
- Implements operational policies and procedures to increase efficiency of workflow.
- Schedules warehouse hands as necessary to ensure equipment maintenance, Quality Control, Inventory Control, prep, truck packs, de-packs, de-prep, and restocking.
- Oversees security of warehouse facility including equipment tracking, vehicle tracking, physical security such as doors/locks/gates, and monitors surveillance footage as necessary.
- Ensures effective and safe use of warehouse equipment and tools.
- Ensures the safety of staff, adhering to all OSHA regulations for warehouse.
- Maintains proficiency in operating and training employees to operate heavy machinery such as fork lifts, reach forks, scissor lifts, and cherry pickers.
- Maintains documentation and keeps accurate records of warehouse activities and schedules.
- Receives pull sheet from Production Managers 2 weeks in advance of shows and verifies requested equipment is available, in good working condition, and able to be delivered on the requested date and time.
- Coordinates, via Assistant Warehouse Manager, sub-rentals as necessary and makes suggestions to management as to purchases that would increase revenue, or decrease costs.
- Ensures all equipment leaving the warehouse is barcoded and scanned out to the project via FLEX.
- Oversees the process of rejected, returned, non-functioning gear and the repair or decommissioning via the Repair and Maintenance Technician.
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvements.
- Supports field staff when they are onsite by providing, when necessary, in-warehouse staff during off-hours to field phone calls and ship emergency replacements or additions.
- Supports field staff and fielded equipment via phone when necessary.
- Maintains a log of all “shop drops”: unanticipated, unscheduled equipment deliveries from shop whether due to human error or client additions.
- Coordinates with Production Managers and Labor Coordinator to schedule return driver(s).
- Receives equipment off truck and scans equipment barcodes back into FLEX to show equipment as available again in inventory.
- Conducts audits of equipment, via Assistant Warehouse Manager, to ensure equipment on shelves has been QC’d properly and that FLEX is accurate in its inventory counts.
- Checks all equipment coming off trucks and event sites for NFG red tape, follows up with Production Managers for information on equipment fault, and sends NFG equipment to Repair and Maintenance Technician for repair or decommissioning.
- Maintains awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of fleet vehicles.
- Coordinates and schedules fleet maintenance as required.
- Oversees, via Assistant Warehouse Manager, receiving/shipping/delivery of client packages that may be shipped to warehouse in advance of shows.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant must have an extensive history in the Live Event Production market, preferably with a Production Company (or equivalent) in an operations or technical role
At least 7 years’ experience in the entertainment and corporate live events industry
At least 2 years’ experience in Warehouse Management
Must be well-versed in all aspects of production (audio, video, lighting, staging, scenic)
Must be able to safely lift and carry loads of more than 50 pounds
Must have managed people in the past preferably with a team directly under their guidance
Must demonstrate leadership capabilities: positivity, thorough training, delegation, motivation, vision, responsibility, etc.
Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, be self-motivated and provide a positive work environment both inside the department and throughout the Company
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, training, and on-call duties including overnights and weekends
Working knowledge of electronics and related systems and the ability to perform light mechanical assembly and disassembly
Always maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all established safety policies and procedures; participate in all required safety classes
Ability to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations
Excellent knowledge and swift operation of advanced computer software
Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
