Job Title: Teller
Report To: Assistant Branch Manager/Branch Manager/Sales & Experience Manager/ VP – Chief Operations Officer/EVP/President-CEO

General Purpose
Receives members with friendly and efficient service. Listens for opportunities and asks the questions to determine members’ needs, refers members to MA to make a sale. Provides teller services to members and processes all types of teller transactions accurately (i.e., loan payments, withdrawals, merchandising items, deposits and answers questions).
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Greets and welcomes members to the Credit Union in a courteous, professional and timely manner.

Verifies identification on all transactions required. (Split deposits, withdrawing funds, transferring out of account, cash advances, cashing checks, when completing CTR report, LOC cash advance, requesting information)

Complete Currency Transaction Reports for applicable transactions of $10,000 or more.

Cashes checks within the credit union’s check cashing policy and informs member of any checks that are deposited and placed on hold.

Accurately processes shared branching transactions for members of participating shared branching credit unions, in applicable branches.

Receives share deposits, credit card and loan payments in person.

Processes transfers and disburses cash or check share withdrawals requested in person.

Provides comprehensive, prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions.

Issues money orders and attraction tickets, processes VISA cash advance requests and processes payment of coin counter receipts, and processes LOC cash advances.

Increases relationships per member by cross selling products and services that add value to the member and the credit union.

Executes sales plan by communicating with the member to uncover potential needs and refers them to a MA. Keeps a log of the referrals completed for the month on a daily basis to be turned in to manager at end of month. (We should take out if considering not using.)

Must be technologically advanced in eServices (eDeposit, eBranch and Mobile Banking).

Communicates discretely with manager or vault teller when cash is needed from vault.

Attend annual training on BSA/AML to remain current on any changes to these policies and procedures and remain compliant.

Completes SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) when applicable according to policies and procedures set forth by Kinetic Credit Union, in accordance to BSA/AML regulations, and turns over to appropriate parties in a timely manner.

Understands and adheres to all Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures set in place to ensure compliance.

Responsible for completing Information Security Awareness training as directed by management.

Responsible for complying with GLBA, Safe Act, Regs B, D, E, CC, Z and other regulatory requirements.

Participates in the Community Involvement goals of the credit union.
Additional Duties/Responsibilities
-
Sells money orders and cashier’s checks.

Processes cash advances according to credit union procedures.

Manages cash drawer; opens and closes the computer terminal; accounts for assigned cash and accurately balances to the computer cash balance totals.

Receive and disburse money from Cash Recycler Machines and at end of night balances drawer.

Secures cash at all times. Signs off computer or Locks when walks away from terminal. Keeps passwords secure at all times.

Responsible for maintaining a current Learning Action Plan in conjunction with
the Performance Management System.

Performs additional duties as directed by management.
Requirements:
This position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent and a commensurate level of language, math and reasoning skills. In addition, two years of experience in a related field with similar responsibilities is preferred. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.

None.
Work Environment/Physical Activities
This position requires limited physical effort. Employee must be able to stand and walk for extended lengths of time as well as reach, stoop, or kneel, or to lift and move at least 25 pounds. The ability to read small print and color vision may also be required. The job calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations. The job requires a degree of attention to details to ensure accuracy of transactions. Because of varying branch operating hours, a flexible schedule is required.
Job requires access to credit union’s network and core data processing system. Core system roles are assigned by Chief Operations Officer.
