Job Description
PPM designs, builds, and maintains lab wastewater and pure water systems, along with custom process solutions and being a UL 508 control panel shop. Our team of engineers, project managers and technicians work together to minimize risk, improve performance, and maintain compliance. Our designs and installations are based on years of field experience operating and upgrading systems. We provide fully packaged skids or modular designs for easier delivery and installation. As a Control Panel Assembler, you will support fabrication, assembly, and wiring of electrical control panels and other various electro-mechanical assemblies. We are seeking candidates with a positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and strong technical skills.
Job Responsibilities and Key Tasks:
- Mount control components, such as transformers, relays, circuit breakers, drives, switches, lights, power supplies, on back panel using screws, bolts, rivets, to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools and power tools.
- Wire electrical components using drawings, procedures, specifications, and written standards with specified wire and cable assemblies including labeling, wrapping, and tying wires to attachment points.
- Perform production inspection, functional testing, and continuity testing of electrical assembly using signal generators, test switches, multimeter, etc. to ensure assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
- Work with Engineering and Production team to troubleshoot issues, investigate improved methods of assembly/fabrication, improve overall panel shop processes and procedures.
· Assist as needed with modifying plastic and metal panel enclosures per schematics including drilling, punching, and cutting holes in preparation for component assembly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be able to read electrical wiring schematics, layout drawings, and bill of materials.
- Must have some experience building and wiring industrial control panels. Experience with building to UL 508A standard is a plus.
· Understanding of common electrical panel components (mechanical relays, motor starters, power supplies, circuit breakers, switches, pilot lights).
- Understanding of common wiring methods and connectors including use of ferrules, ring terminals, etc.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including Allen Bradley and Click PLC is a plus.
- An energetic, positive team player with the ability and desire to multi-task and help where needed.
