Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and service of meals in our department. This role requires a passion for cooking and a commitment to providing exceptional culinary experiences to our patients and guests.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and dietary aides in the preparation and serving of meals.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
- Plan and coordinate the menu and meal preparation for special events and occasions.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Ensure compliance with food handling and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to develop and implement new recipes and menus.
- Assist with food preparation and meal service as needed.
- Provide help and guidance to junior staff members.
- Demonstrate expertise in fine dining culinary techniques and presentation.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared with attention to detail and presented in an appealing manner.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook or head cook in a New York restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of food service and dietary department operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with food handling and safety regulations.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- A passion for providing exceptional culinary experiences and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
- 3+ years experience in New York needed.

Pay: $22.95 - $27.64 per hour
