Dakota Radiology is seeking a Registered Nurse. We need at least a part time nurse for our busy outpatient imaging center. We would also consider making this a full time position expecting continued growth in the future. Must be BLS & ACLS certified. Duties will include working with a variety of patients in a Radiology Imaging Center. Hours and Days will vary, but the hours for nursing coverage are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday. No call, and no weekends. Must be dependable, energetic, able to prioritize patients and facilitate a positive patient experience. Will be working directly with Radiologists, Radiology Technologists, and Support Staff on a daily bases.
General Duties
The radiology nursing role demands the knowledge, judgment, initiative, and independence to provide quality nursing care to a wide variety of patients with diverse needs, about whom information may be limited. The radiology nurse must possess the ability to work independently and proficiently, without direct supervision. The radiology nurse works under the direction of the in-house Radiologist. The Radiology nurse works as part of an interdisciplinary team, which requires coordination and collaboration. The radiology nurse is a patient advocate.
General Responsibility:

Start, maintain, and discontinue I.V.s and administer medication.

Assess patient’s health status and needs.

Monitor vital signs, as well as cardiac and respiratory monitoring.

Educate patients pre and post procedure,
- Help patients with their personal needs.
- Administer sedation and the care thereof by monitor standard vital signs, cardiac & respiratory monitoring,
- Responsible to care for the patient in any emergency. e.g., allergic reaction or cardiac arrest with the assistance of the Radiologist.

Education of both the patient and family pre- procedure, post procedure and discharge.
- Dressings for patient wounds using sterile technique.
- Accurately document all patient care as it occurs.

Provide the company with oversight and guidance in the following areas.
- Infection control, Occupational health, Risk management

Educational assistance for all

Quality improvement initiative

Education or Certification Requirements:

Associate or bachelor’s (preferred) degree in nursing.
- Current License to practice as a Professional Nurse in the State of South Dakota
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
Experience or Job Knowledge:

Computer and phone skills
- Electronic Health Record experience, (Epic preferred)

Emergency, critical patient care experience (preferred)

Code blue and rapid response experience

Moderate sedation, patient care experience (preferred)
