We seek to hire a full-time Compliance Specialist who will strengthen our company culture and represent the company well while supporting our Compliance Department. The ideal candidate will have prior work experience in licensing and regulations, who can thrive in a challenging environment, has a great work ethic, and is motivated to learn and grow.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure all licensing and certification needs of the company are met in a timely manner through proper compliance with laws and regulations at all levels; maintaining, updating, and renewing records and databases; research as assigned; and being a licensing resource for all affiliated companies and offices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures all company entities are properly licensed with local and state jurisdictions.
- Monitors and processes the check request report for permits and licenses.
- Check request entered in Navision by financially responsible entity account and appropriate vendor and are delivered to appropriate A/P specialist for processing.
- Expedites the permit requisition process through receipt and distribution of permits to the appropriate administrative staff to comply with regulations requiring physical permits to be on hand and displayed at the job site.
- Receives permits returned by municipalities, researches details and cause of error; voids check and return application to appropriate Administrative staff.
- Monitors and performs lead certification coordination with the Production Admin Assistant.
- Monitors training requirements and ensures schedules appropriately.
- Updates database with valid county, municipal, and school district information for licensing, permitting, and tax purposes as required during order verification process.
- Research projects as assigned (e.g., licensing, permitting, and/or code requirements in current or new territories, government regulations on various topics).
- Ongoing coordination with Surety Bond provider for annual renewals and new bond requirements as needed.
- Ongoing coordination with Certificates of insurance provider for certificates as requested by customers, vendors, landlords, etc.
ABILITIES AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Experience working within or with governmental agencies a plus. Must have experience with professional written and verbal communications.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated competency with computers and other electronic office/business equipment.
- Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing and able to self-report any and all errors made.
- Must be detail oriented and willing to ask questions.
