Florida Medical Pain Management is seeking 1 Full Time Multi-Lingual Medical Assistant Certified. The company specializes in interventional Pain Management. The Medical Assistant will Provide Care and Support to Check in and Check Out Patients under the direction of the Physician and/or Advanced Practitioner. In addition to contributing to the planning and delivery of patient-focused care.
Our Physicians specialize only in interventional Pain Management. This multidisciplinary approach gets to the root causes of Chronic and Acute Pain.
Responsibilities;
- Greet and prepare patients for the practitioner.
- Provide patient mobility assistance, as necessary.
- Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problems.
- Demonstrate awareness of patients’ concerns and a willingness to address them.
- Ensure patients’ safety and comfort during the visit.
- Observe pertinent changes in symptoms of patients’ condition and take appropriate action, report to the physician.
- Verifies current medications with patients and records updated information each visit
- Document all prior surgical interventions in patient records.
- Scans all pertinent documents pertaining to the patient in the patient record.
- Review all lab studies and necessary paperwork are available for procedures.
- Explain to the patient the specific pain management procedure they are having and obtain the required consent forms signed by the patient.
- Clean and restock patient care areas as needed.
- Assist physicians / Physician assistant as needed.
- Prepare and keep patient exam rooms clean and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to the facility Exposure Control Plan; anticipate Practitioner's needs for medications, supplies, and equipment and plan accordingly.
- Document procedures and interactions in the patient's medical record
- Actively participate in continuing education, required meetings, and participates in committees as requested.
- Initiate communication with the Front Office Manager immediately in areas that require feedback, follow-up, or need to be addressed.
- Demonstrate tact and understanding in dealings with patients, team members, members of other disciplines, and the public.
- Check phone messages on a regular basis and return all phone calls by the day’s end.
- Obtain prior authorizations from medications as needed plus any medical history.
- Help and assist Physicians / PA in office procedure.
Education:
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Proof of Education from an appropriately accredited Scholastic Program
with current certification.
- Preferred knowledge in computer, our EMR Greenway.
- Prior knowledge or experience in Interventional Pain Management Required.
- English - Spanish or Multilingual, preferred.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in Pain Management or Orthopedic Clinic.
Licensure/Certification:
- Must have a current Florida Medical Assistant National Certification.
