A Brief Overview
As a Technician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our certified technicians during glass installation. You will champion the Safelite Spirit with your can-do attitude, caring heart, and service mindset while striving to bring unexpected happiness to your customers by completing jobs with only the highest quality standard in mind.
What you will do
1. Support Certified Technicians with Prepping for Process During Replacement: Collaborate with certified technicians to ensure seamless vehicle replacement processes. Assist in preparing vehicles for installation, focusing on safety and efficiency
2.Vehicle Protection and Disassembly: Safeguard customer vehicles during installation by implementing protective measures. Expertly disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts, maintaining precision and attention to detail.
3. Thorough Parts Verification and Feature Checks: Conduct thorough inspections after part removal to verify their condition. Check all features associated with the installation process, ensuring optimal functionality.
4.Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting safety and efficiency. Clean customer vehicle during wait/idle time during the replacement process as well as perform additional housekeeping tasks in shop.
5.Safely and professionally operate customers vehicles in and out of store location.
6.Manage work orders, customer documentation and customer communication through the Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.

Skills and Abilities
Valid state-issued driver’s license- Required
On-the-job training/completion of Safelite SafeTech™ certification - Required
Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, assist an associate with lifting windshields weighing 26 lbs. to 50 lbs, safely operate various equipment including hand and power tools, working at elevated heights, remaining on your feet for extended periods.
The ability to operate a Safelite van, following all safety, cleanliness policies, traffic laws, and maintain a safe driving record.
Flexibility with hours and days trained/worked, as workloads fluctuate.
Comfort working outside in a variety of weather conditions.
Present a professional appearance and wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to work scheduled days, with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer’s needs.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
