As we embark on this exciting journey of growth, we are seeking a talented and experienced individual to lead our Civil Engineering Department.
Position Overview:
The Civil Engineer will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of civil engineering projects, with a focus on construction inspection and design. This position will involve collaborating closely with project teams, conducting site assessments, preparing design drawings and specifications, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects in accordance with client requirements and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, requirements, and constraints.
2. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data, evaluate existing conditions, and identify engineering challenges and opportunities.
3. Prepare detailed design drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software and other relevant tools, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to project guidelines.
4. Perform calculations, analyses, and simulations to support engineering design and decision-making processes, considering factors such as structural integrity, drainage, and environmental impact.
5. Assist in the preparation of project proposals, bids, and cost estimates, providing technical expertise and input as needed.
6. Collaborate with regulatory agencies, contractors, and subcontractors to obtain necessary permits and approvals, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
7. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and propose solutions to mitigate delays or challenges.
8. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and as-built drawings, ensuring accurate and up-to-date record-keeping.
9. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates, addressing inquiries, and facilitating collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
2. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
3. 2-5 years of experience in civil engineering, with exposure to construction inspection, design, and project management.
4. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other engineering software tools.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform calculations and analyses accurately and efficiently.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
7. Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to producing high-quality work and delivering projects on time and within budget.
8. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and adaptability to changing requirements.
