Retail Sales Associate
Provides sales assistance and expert product knowledge to our customers
The schedule for this job is 12pm-4pm Monday-Friday
General Characteristics:
A Retail Sales Associate is responsible for providing sales assistance and customer service with an emphasis on:
- Providing a shopping experience that exceeds our customer’s expectations for customer service and product knowledge.
- Helping our customers in person, phone, email, or chat.
- Acting as the primary representative of our company to retail customers in public interactions.
- Making connections that endure with customers and the photographic community.
Examples of Work: Sales and Customer Service
- Greeting all customers who enter the store promptly and courteously.
- Fielding incoming phone calls, customer emails and customer chat messages promptly, professionally and personally.
- Using active listening skills that allow you to reveal our Customer’s photographic goals and technical requirements.
- Assisting our Customers in purchasing photographic equipment & accessories through demonstrating equipment, advising them on what resources are available to help them make their decision, and other techniques that represent the best in class customer service we strive for.
- Providing an empathetic experience for customers who are experiencing frustration or disappointment about their interactions with the company while maintaining professional composure, and ensuring that any conflict resolution falls within company policies and processes.
- Provide our Customers with high quality insight into the interoperability of photo systems, accessories and equipment.
Retail and Merchandising
- Providing staffing in person and online for company events such as classes, product demonstrations and photo walks. Assisting with setup and teardown, demonstrating products and providing training on photo systems and equipment to our customers.
- Assisting in the stocking and merchandising of retail products, maintaining a clean and well organized retail space and collaborating with our Inventory team on stock irregularities, shortages and other inventory issues.
- Collect payment from customers accurately and courteously
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Enthusiasm about our products and industry and a commitment to learning more
- Proven customer service experience
- Strong phone and email contact handling skills, active listening
- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
- Ability to be self guided and work independently
- Ability to prioritize a constantly shifting list of tasks and manage time effectively
- Be able to consistently interact with coworkers and the public in a pleasant, tactful and courteous manner
- Ability and willingness to maintain skill relevancy in a constantly changing retail environment
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization and across departments.
- Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
Supervision:
- Works under the general supervision of the Sales Floor Manager
- Work is performed as part of a team in accordance with company policies.
- The supervisor is available to consult on problems and policy decisions.
- Work is reviewed for the quantity and quality of work provided to the company.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
