POSITION: Payroll Specialist (Full Time Regular)
LOCATION: BHS Corporate – Gardena, CA
DUTIES: The Payroll Specialist performs a variety of payroll related tasks to support the operations of the facility or accounting department.
QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications and competencies required to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ new hires, hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, address changes, and other information.
· Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions (401K, Life Insurance)
· Process semi-monthly payroll using MIP ABILA payroll software and HR Management Module.
· Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
· Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum two years of direct payroll processing experience
· Experience with ADP or Paycheck software preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
