ID Mail Systems, a manufacture of parcel and mail processing and sorting equipment, and related engineering and support services, is seeking an ambitious and conscientious full or part-time Field Service Technician. Job Responsibilities
The Field Service Technician will have a basic understanding of electrical, computer, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components. This professional will ensure customer commitments are executed as planned to assure complete customer satisfaction. Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Traveling to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all equipment and controls for customer organizations.
· Utilizing equipment manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues and perform maintenance and repairs.
· Completing and submitting proper documentation to headquarters and customer regarding the status of machine issues, repairs, and installation.
· Promoting and performing preventative maintenance on customer systems and conducting after-sales technical support and training.
· Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machines used in industry and product lines offered by the company.
· Provide phone and web support to other company and customer field technicians.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate should have either a two year technical degree in related electro-mechanical technology or a minimum of three years’ background experience with supporting similar machines. Both a degree and experience are considered a plus, but both are not required. Military technical experience is accepted. Experience with Windows Operating systems and personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite and ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics are required. Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills are a must. The Field Service Technician must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including at time working under a machine and lifting and installing heavy parts. This position requires flexible hours at times and frequent driving travel and occasional air travel throughout a regional territory. Some overnight travel is necessary.
