The SAP S4 Program Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and success of a large S4 Upgrade/Implementation for an international Oil and Gas client. This role requires a blend of prowess in SAP, the energy sector, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of project management principles. Responsible for the day-to-day Program Management and execution of the S/4 Upgrade.
Program Planning and Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive program strategies that align with the company's objectives.
Project Management Oversight
- Oversee the planning, execution, and closing of projects within the program, ensuring they meet the set objectives, budget, and timelines.
- Facilitate coordination between project teams (Order to Cash, Supply Chain, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Technical/Integration, Migration, etc.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders involved in or affected by the program.
- Regularly communicate project updates, progress reports, and key developments to stakeholders.
Budgeting and Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage the overall program budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across projects.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, including cost control measures and forecasting.
Quality Assurance
- Implement quality control and assurance processes to ensure the program's outputs meet the expected standards and performance criteria.
- Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop other team members to build a high-performing team.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and efficiency in processes.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of a detailed Project Plan -from top to bottom.
- Proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues, and initiating appropriate corrective action.
- Ensuring the program’s governance requirements.
- Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the program.
- Ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the program’s individual projects.
- Managing internal and third party contributions to the program (includes offshore teams)
- Managing communications with all stakeholders.
- Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
- Managing risks to the program’s successful outcome
- Reporting the progress of the program at regular intervals to executive leadership.
Required skills:
- 15+ years of SAP Program Management experience with some Oil and Gas background
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced level with Microsoft Project suite
- The ability to build trust and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams.
- Expert knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs.
- Solid knowledge of program and project management methods.
- Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the program.
- The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field
- PMP Certified
Other:
- Travel Required up to 80-90% of the time for the foreseeable future (Jackson Mississippi)
- Must reside in USA
