- Job Title: Endpoint Security Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Device Provisioning and Maintenance:
- Manage effective device provisioning, software and policy installation/configuration, operations, and maintenance of device management infrastructure.
- Handle device provisioning for new and existing devices using Windows Autopilot, configuring device-based policies, applications, services, and settings in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
- Deploy operating system images, software packages, device configuration policies, patches, and updates to endpoints using automated tools like Intune, Tanium, and Jamf.
- System Monitoring and Security:
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Conduct regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions.
- Apply operating system (OS) patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
- Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications or asset management applications per project or operational needs.
- Technical Research and Development:
- Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
- Compliance:
- Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to District policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide Tier III support per request from various agencies.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues, diagnosing and recovering from software failures.
- Coordinate and communicate with impacted agencies.
Additional Responsibilities: Information Security
- Security Technologies Management:
- Implement, administrate, and operate information security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, network traffic analyzers, and malware analysis tools.
- Develop, lead, and execute information security incident response plans.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Utilize advanced experience with scripting and tool automation such as Perl, PowerShell, and Regex.
- Develop standard and complex IT solutions and services, driven by business requirements and industry standards.
- May leverage dynamic and static code assessment tools to measure the vulnerability of applications throughout the SDLC.
Experience and Skills Required Experience:
- Windows OS Updates:
- 3+ years of performing successful Windows OS updates.
- IT Experience:
- 6+ years of total progressive IT experience.
- Endpoint Management and Security:
- 5+ years of experience in endpoint management and security.
- Endpoint Engineering and Scripting:
- 3+ years of troubleshooting complex issues in endpoint engineering with PowerShell, VBScript, and batch scripting. Strong focus on Windows and macOS devices.
- Device Management Platforms:
- 5+ years of experience with device management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Tanium, and/or Jamf.
- Network Technologies:
- 2+ years of strong understanding of network technologies, such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, and other related technologies.
- Cloud Platforms:
- 2+ years of experience with cloud-based platforms such as Azure AD and Intune, and integration with endpoint management solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- BS degree in computer science, IT, software, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field.
- Certifications:
- Endpoint Engineer subject-matter expert (SME).
- Data security and networking experience required.
- Experience:
- Experience in managing Azure AD, Intune, Tanium (Jamf would be a plus).
