- This is for an Abortion Clinic.
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Determine nature of visit and enter information in practice management system.
· Schedule secondary or follow up appointments and provides necessary information for visit.
· Perform functions to include telephone, patient scheduling when needed, patient flow and processing mail.
· Maintain facilities, equipment and supplies.
· Provide factual, non-biased information to patients seeking abortion.
· Describe the difference between medication and surgical abortion.
· Explain all FDA approved birth control methods.
· Provide specific instruction on the patient’s selected birth control method.
· Performs appropriate lab procedures in accordance with OSHA
· Assists medical provider in the examination and procedure-surgical rooms.
· Collects payments and enters information into computer to generate daily receipts.
· Maintain a proper inventory supplies for the front desk.
· Pull charts/forms, if applicable, for daily schedule and prepares necessary paperwork for client visit.
· Prepare daily patient schedules for next day’s service.
· Retrieve and distributes incoming medical records and/or faxes.
· Ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
· Follow all State laws governing abortion services.
· Respond to staffing needs at other sites as needed.
· Perform other job duties as assigned or directed by management.
Experience in Pro-Choice Atmosphere is preferred, but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
