Moffitt Services is looking for a Billing Manager. Primary responsibilities will encompass managing a team that will accurately and timely invoice customers for products, services, or contracts. This individual will need an in-depth understanding of billing procedures, and billing software, will work closely with different departments, help with billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage customer accounts with operational staff, review billing issues, including analyzing billing, identifying common reasons for rejected claims, quantifying billing success rate.
- Oversee your team to ensure all billing transactions are completed and accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Verify billing data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to billing regulations, customer contracts, and company policies.
- Responsible for reviewing and reconciling billing transactions to maintain consistency and ensure the utmost accuracy in the financial processes.
- Promptly and professionally addressing billing inquiries from customers, internal teams, and various stakeholders, demonstrating your ability to handle complex financial matters with expertise.
- Work closely with different departments, addressing billing inquiries, reconciling discrepancies, and upholding compliance with both company policies and industry regulations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing billing-related inquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Investigate and skillfully resolve billing discrepancies or disputes, by collaborating with pertinent departments and facilitating successful payment collection.
- Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes, seek ways to enhance efficiency, and implement improvements that contribute to the organization's financial effectiveness.
- Work closely with team members to propose and execute process enhancements.
- Uphold the accuracy and organization of billing records and associated documentation, contributing to the integrity of the organization's financial records.
- Record billing-related information systematically in the appropriate systems and databases, demonstrating your proficiency in maintaining orderly and compliant financial data.
- Prepare billing reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
- Provide insightful analysis of billing trends and offer suggestions for potential improvements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing operations.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements related to billing.
- Experience with general ledger accounting software (QuickBooks desktop, Ariba, Open Invoice, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Adobe, Word etc.).
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and other departments internally.
- Ability to manage a large team.
Education
Associate degree or relevant certification in accounting or finance. Preferably, a Bachelor’s Degree, in accounting.
