General Job Description:
This position defines and executes all communications and public relations for the Boca Chamber. Major components of the job include: creation, design, production of print materials, media relations, social media, event marketing, non-technical website administration, writing and much more!
Knowledge in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and other publishing programs (creation, design, production of print materials)
- Writing and Research for: Quarterly Magazine, press releases, e-mail blasts, speeches, Social / Online Media, Annual Directory, marketing materials, etc.
- Design, edit, produce (including pre-and post-production efforts): Including but not limited to Quarterly Magazine, monthly & annual special events programs, e-mail headers, Advertisements in other organizations programs or publications
- Edit & Proof Writings: Monthly & annual special events programs, Annual Directory Articles from previous year, newsletter articles
Media Relations
- Write and distribute press releases for Chamber events: pre & post-event coverage
- Maintain communication and positive relationships with all media
Event Marketing
- Design and schedule all event marketing emails to be sent through Constant Contact.
- Serve as main media contact for all events, as well as working with reporters and editors to secure promotion of Chamber news & events.
- Design, create and handle all pre-and post-production of all special event advertisements,
- Write speeches for large-scale events.
- Design, create and handle pre- and post-production for all event programs and other related event information
Website Administration
- Minor website maintenance
- Approve all member submitted events. Post member news releases. Approve member coupons.
- Oversee all marketing efforts for website
Sales
- Manage and increase Quarterly newsletter advertising
- Refer members to Sales Team
- Create Facebook Lead-gen campaigns to generate leads for the Membership Development dept.
SOCIAL MEDIA
- Manage and increase Chamber’s presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn
- Use Canva/Photoshop to create branded and appealing graphics for use on social media
- Create social media advertising budget and schedule. Use advertising to increase event attendance, grow social platforms and generate leads for sales team.
Other
- Handle all political material including BLUPAC collateral candidate ads, voter’s guide, etc. on an as needed basis
- Handle all Golden Bell Foundation (c3) collateral on an as needed basis
To Be Successful in this Role You Need:
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to design banners, programs, magazines and graphics using Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of social media trends and innovative technology
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members
