Program Manager
Job Description
Empire Cooler Service has been the leading supplier of refrigeration and ice making equipment in the Chicago area since 1932. We sell, lease and service equipment to the largest restaurant, hotel, and hospitality groups in the Midwest. We are a “white-glove service company” whose goal is to anticipate and exceed our customer's needs in this ever-changing hospitality market.
Job Summary:
The Program Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, implementation and tracking of projects at Empire Cooler including the Installation and Removal of equipment on a national level. The Program Manager works with customers, internal departments / staff, vendors, and suppliers, to oversee installation projects to ensure they are completed in a timely, and efficient manner. Additionally, the Project and Process Manager is responsible for developing and implementing process improvement initiatives to optimize business operations.
Responsibilities related to Installation and Removals
- Develop process for efficiently installing and removing equipment from customer locations on a national basis.
- Coordinate activities for equipment installation and removals including coordinating scheduling, manpower, equipment and material, with customer and internal departments.
- Selects equipment based on customer requirements and product on-hand and coordinates with purchasing to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials per budget.
- Works with third-party vendors to coordinate out-of-state installations and removals.
- Develop key metrics and monitor progress to ensure project efficiency.
- Provide regular project status reports to customers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure installations and removal projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
- Coordinate job site requirements with sales, customer, and installation team.
- Communicate with customers to ensure site specifications / requirements are met prior to installation.
- Follow up with customer after installation to ensure “White Glove” service was performed.
Responsibilities related to Program Management
- Work with executive and senior leadership to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Develop and Implement process improvement initiatives to increase service to customers, optimize business operations, and increase efficiency. Process improvement projects may include:
- Remanufacturing
- Relocation of Business
- Customer facing process with emphasis on intra department hand-offs.
Requirements
- Worked as a project manager, installation coordinator or similar position for 5 years.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good technical skills and working technical knowledge of ice machines, refrigerators, and freezers a plus.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and technical skills required.
- Good understanding of construction sites as it pertains to our product installation requirements.
- Well versed in applicable trades (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.).
