We are your neighborhood Optometrist located in Westlake Village, CA. We provide optometry services to all Conejo Valley cities including Malibu, Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Westlake Village, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Moorpark. Walk-In appointments always welcomed for our patients convenience.
Some job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The optician/sales associate is responsible for assisting patients once they have been seen by the doctor. This includes assistance with choosing the appropriate frame, understanding the patients insurance benefits, excuting the proper lenses per what the doctor prescribed. Being able to clearly go over all out of pocket costs with the patient and discuss the technology of what has been prescribed to them, so they have a full understanding and explanation of their vision concerns. You will be required to process any payments needed during this time as well, by following proper procedures for acceptance of payment methods, such as checks, cash, credit card payments and other forms of non-cash payments. You will also be required to take all the necessary measurements needed in order to process the patient's order. Working closely with patients is essential as customer service is our #1 priority.
You will be required to trouble shoot any issues that the patient may have once they have picked up their glasses prior to them seeing the doctor.
You must be a very detailed oriented person as you will need to be able adhere to very detailed requirements when dealing with HIPPA compliance. You will be required to process all lab orders within the designated lab portal or the necessary insurance portals. Accuracy is key in processing this information as this could delay the outcome of the patient's orders. Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent labs delivered by patient, etc. Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance). You will be required to deal with outside vendors when needing to communicate any road blocks you may have when processing patient's orders. You will also be responsible for checking in all glasses received back from the lab. This requires checking all orders were completed accurately and checking that the prescription was properly filled. You will assist upfront with patients when needed. Possible collecting of outstanding balances owed when dispensing glasses to patients.

You will be working closely with physicians and assist other medical receptionists as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour
