Job Summary
The Director, People and Culture will be a strategic, operational, and transactional partner in driving all human capital initiatives for the organization in alignment with Fortified’s mission, vision, and core values. The Director of People and Culture will join the Senior Leadership Team and serve as the Chair of the Engagement Committee, supporting ongoing associate engagement initiatives and fostering a strong workplace culture.
Essential Job Functions

- Develops and leads the PnC strategy for Fortified Health Security.
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the organization’s human capital needs.
- Participates as a strategic and transactional partner in the development of the organization’s plans and programs, with a key emphasis on the associate experience.
- Oversees the employment life cycle, ensuring all associates are properly onboarded to the organization.
- Manages the HRIS database for data accuracy and integrity.
- Partners with the Executive Team to develop internal communications with associates to create alignment, bringing associates together under a cohesive culture.
- Develops and recommends strategic compensation programs, policies, and procedures through market studies to support merit adjustments, promotions, bonus plans, and recognition programs.
- Manages processes to ensure benefits and payroll are accurate and timely.
- Serves as Administrator of the 401(k) and all health and welfare plans.
- Partners and collaborates with all third-party vendors and brokers.
- Responds to all internal and external stakeholders timely.
- Serves as Engagement Committee Board Chair.
- Oversees and manages the annual performance management process.
- Implements a performance management process to develop a high-performance organization for regular, ongoing feedback, ultimately delivering high levels of associate engagement.
- Establishes high credibility throughout the organization to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
- Oversees associate/leadership training program, partnering with department leaders to determine training needs and solutions.
- Other deliverables may be assigned as necessary and applicable.
Knowledge & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of human resources experience is required.
- SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred.
