POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SUMMARY – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Under the direction of the Board of the Panhandle Producers & Royalty Owners Association: you will provide Association representation, involvement, and influence in various political and governmental activities in the State of Texas.
Coordinate the Association’s public affairs activities on local and state levels. Participate in Federal issues with peer associations when necessary.
Schedule and organize an annual meeting and convention. Develop, implement, and conduct the necessary membership, fundraising, and financial activities of the Association.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be the “face” of the Panhandle Producers & Royalty Owners Association during the legislative sessions by on-site representation. In coordination with the governmental affairs representative, present testimony before various legislative committees and State regulatory agencies on issues affecting the oil and gas industry, particularly
2. Advise the membership of all proposed legislation and other political activities affecting the oil and gas industry.
3. In coordination with peer groups, develop industry legislation, legislative sponsorship, and pursue passage of said legislation.
4. Communicate a positive industry image to the public through speaking engagements, forums, memberships in various professional organizations and social media formats.
5. Develop an annual budget for PPROA. Be diligent with dues collection and association financial accounting. Submit monthly financial statements to the association treasurer for approval.
6. Maintain the website with current articles, actions, and information affecting the Texas oil & gas industry. .
7. Hold the annual convention, coordinating location, speakers, and events.
8. Coordinate and attend peer association (SPE, PAPL, PGS) meetings, as necessary.
9. Travel as necessary for peer association annual conventions and service company meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal training or degree in business administration, natural resource, OR related field equivalent to a four-year college degree. Previous experience as an association director, agency representative, lobbyist, or legislator a plus.
Advanced knowledge of running a not-for-profit through fundraising, membership development, educational meetings, coordinating forums with elected officials a plus.
Requires exemplary communication skills to articulate Association positions when needed.
