Summary:
The R2S contracts team focuses on key pursuits as well as the execution of development and production efforts that serve as the growth engine and front end of the business for R2S. This position offers learning opportunities with face-to-face time with multiple levels of leadership, work in a non-siloed environment, and the encouragement and support to learn about our joint venture and international customer.
The program requires a strategic, forward-thinking Contracts professional that can provide support to a complex program area. The position will be well suited for a highly motivated, well-organized person who enjoys working in an exciting, collaborative team environment and working a high number of contract actions. Enablers for success include being able to effectively multitask; strong competency in FAR based / US DoD contracting; and demonstration of good communication skills to be able to interface with all levels of internal and external customers.
Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFP), statement of work (SOW, and negotiate contracts, ensuring that negotiated scope, price, and terms and conditions comply with company financial goals, risk tolerance, and policies.
- Conduct proposal reviews, general contract management and customer interface.
- Review Estimates at Completion (EAC) and Basis of Estimate (BoE).
- Support program management and execution reviews.
- Work closely with the R2S department heads, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Capture team, and Supply Chain to construct, submit and negotiate pricing proposals.
- Provide guidance to senior stakeholders regarding contractual & business issues, rights & obligations, and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested by dotted line manager, Contracts Department Head.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and at least 5 years of contract experience; or a combination of education, related military and work experience equal to five or more years.
- At least two years’ experience in contracts/subcontracts administration, proposal preparation or other account management/finance/procurement/legal/program management experience including negotiations, and/or sales.
- At least three years’ experience working in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, or PowerPoint)
- At least two years working experience with FAR/DFAR compliance.
- Working knowledge of the ITAR / EAR
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience in a government contracting environment with DoD and non-DoD customers.
Work Location: Hybrid; 90% remote with travel to our Arlington, VA office as required.
*There is a preference for the candidate to live in the east coast time zone.
Travel: 10%; mainly within the United States with some overseas travel.
