The newly built VitalCare Express in Roswell, GA, is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant who has experience with imaging technology (taking X-rays) and phlebotomy. Seeking a responsible individual with excellent customer service skills and initiative who can perform basic X-rays, obtain medical history, and vital statistics. Answers the telephone, able to register patients, routes clinical calls in accordance with practice policies. greets patients, obtains and verifies patient information, creates and updates patient records accordingly. Observes strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines dealing with all patient phone calls.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will need to possess a Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program and be experienced in phlebotomy and medical imaging (X-Ray).
CLINICAL DUTIES:
· Room patients and collect vital signs, including phlebotomy.
· Verify patient demographic information, reason for visit, and medical history.
· Update patient medical records including medical and surgical history, family history, and allergy-immunotherapy record.
· Record patient administrative and medical information in EMR, including vital signs, and chief complaint.
· Relay instructions to patient as determined by provider.
· Process patient orders, including scheduling studies to be performed outside of clinic.
· Keep rooms stocked with adequate and appropriate supplies.
· Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
· Assist clinician with office procedures.
· Certified to take x-rays of the patient's body parts for various diagnostic tests.
· Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergency situations per protocols.
· Receive patient phone calls and perform basic triage.
· Document work processes in medical record as required.
· Start and manage IVs under the provider's direction.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
- Maintain clean work area, exam rooms, supplies, and medications.
- Keep inventory of medical and office supplies as required. Notify the provider if supplies are low.
- Provide administrative support during administrative staff absence and/or as needed per office manager’s discretion.
- Assist in updating patient’s demographic and insurance information in medical record.
- File and manage patient data/charts.
- Work cooperatively with all vendors, office, and all clinical staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
