Installs, configures and maintains mid-range operating systems. Applies specific functional knowledge; working/general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance; may review or guide activities of more junior employees.
Follow checklists and SOPs for core tasks. Allocate disk volumes, run PowerShell scripts, edit Windows registry and manage AD group members and AD groups. Install, uninstall, and update software and security certificates on machines, and in Kubernetes application configuration. Manage RBAC for storage, machines, robots, users, and applications. Decommission old profiles, automations, platforms, and users. Manage requests for database access. Edit local GPO. Script and schedule tasks on Windows and in Azure. Create fileshares and adjust access to fileshares. Troubleshoot Office and target system API access for human and Non Person Entity (NPE) users. Request NPE and service accounts for services and applications and protect access to admin functions, reserving them for EP users. Implement Microsoft authentication methods for managed applications. Help clients overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management.
Essential Functions:
- Experience with Windows system administration, including CPUs/memory/disk management, and optimizing Windows 10/11 and Windows VMs
- Knowledge of Windows Event Viewer
- Knowledge of analysis and reporting, including generating reports in Excel
- Knowledge of support and monitoring, including opening, managing, and prioritizing VAEC (VA Enterprise Cloud), SNow (ServiceNow), and 3rd-party vendor tickets such as UiPath, Dynatrace, or CyberArk
- Exposure to PowerShell scripting and comfortable learning new command line tools
- Ability to work an on-call after-hours schedule
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Careful, reliable, and detail-oriented when performing high impact administration tasks
Nice If You Have:
- Experience documenting processes, procedures and SOPs
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with UiPath package deployment, installing UiPath browser extensions, supporting attended RPA (Robotic Process Automation) users and installing UiPath robots
- Experience with Windows or cross-platform tools such as Kubernetes, Exchange or Graph API, ArgoCD, or Azure Monitor
- Knowledge of CyberArk, GitHub, Dynatrace, ScienceLogic, BigFix, splunk, Power BI, Venafi, VA's TRM, Visio diagramming, Confluence, Gliffy, Jira, ServiceNow, AD OUs, and/or DNS
- Knowledge of cypher suites and FIPS-approved encryption algorithms
- Knowledge of Azure architecture such as Azure services and portal, Azure Government Cloud, multi‑user Windows 10/11 machines and high density machines, automation of administrative processes, Infrastructure as a Service, proficient ability with PowerShell scripting, SQL Administrator, SQL reporting, APIs, authorization methods for applications and APIs, migrating SQL schemas and data between environments
- Microsoft certifications, Azure certifications, devops tool certifications, and/or UiPath certifications.
- Experience/Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree and 2-4+ years of directly related experience or Master's degree and 0-2+ years directly related experience. 8 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree for certain roles. Certifications may be accepted in lieu of a degree for certain technical roles.
