The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all company assets as designed through preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance practices using skills and tools available. Identifies repetitive failures and implements improvement plans with the help of engineering. Leads and reports on small and medium size maintenance projects. Makes key repair decisions in the absence of higher leadership.
Essential Duties
- Conducts facility maintenance and improvement including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and environmental to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Conducts routine preventative and predictive maintenance to maintain machine integrity and minimize downtime.
- Conducts reactive maintenance to repair unexpected breakdowns.
- Schedules maintenance to repair or rebuild equipment for planned downtime.
- General maintenance and upkeep of both inside and outside of the facility.
- Trains new department leads on Garmat maintenance processes.
- Assists in assembly and implementation of new equipment.
- Additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
What You Need:
- High School diploma is required; an associate degree in industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Certificate program or journey worker certification highly preferred. Certification by SMRP, CLS or other similar reliability standard preferred.
- Completion of training program with 2 or more years job experience, or 5 or more years of job experience.
- Knowledge of Industrial controls and mechanical systems required.
- Able to review and interpret prints, quotes, and wiring diagrams.
- 2 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, computers, fall protection equipment, and electrical testing equipment.
