Primary Purpose: The LMHC/LMSW will work cooperatively with the Program Manager and agency staff in the stabilization and rehabilitation of clients in a residential substance abuse program. Candidate must meet all regulatory program qualifications as defined by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and other agencies.
Duties
- Participates in screening of clients, and observation of physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted clients.
- Works cooperatively with the Medical staff and Program Manager to meet the stabilization and rehabilitation treatment needs of each client.
- Provides individual and group counseling sessions to residents, this includes motivation, support and encouragement for client goals.
- Monitors clients for medical, mental health, safety and security issues following program procedure and protocols.
- Participates in weekly Case Conferences and resident meetings including team meetings. Attends required staff meetings and trainings
Licenses, Certificates, or Registrations: NYS Mental Health Counselor Certificate (LMHC) Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Q.H.P. or provisional QHP with supervision required.
Education Requirements: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or other related field. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field, or degree in substance abuse counseling with 3 year’s work experience.
Experience Requirements: Must have a minimum of three years counseling or related experience. Must have experience in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
