Job Title: Program Director
Operational Category: Administration
Report To: Regional Director
The Program Director will manage and monitor daily program operations of 200-bed men's shelter based on city, state, and federal regulatory requirements and DHS contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor all aspects of program start-up based on DHS contractual requirements and guidelines.
- Manage and monitor ongoing expenditures, resource allocation, and utilization.
- Complete written reports to division management, and funding source/s as required; program progress and highlights, consumer census, housing and employment placement, staffing, and service utilization.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and performance evaluations to Senior/lead Case Managers.
- Ensures that client rights are protected and that clients follow their Independent Living Plans and observe other responsibilities.
- Ensures that clients are progressing in achieving independent living and that they use all means available such as job preparation, work and life skills training, housing search programs and use of suggested scheduled activities.
- Keep harmonious relationships with DHS, and state and city agencies pertinent to the program.
- Provides frequent verbal/written communication with the Regional Director on the status of the program.
- Assist in the development of job skills training curriculums suitable to the population served.
- Enforce compliance protocols, BVSJ employee policies, procedures, protocols, and incident, procedures and protocols.
- Develop and maintains a crisis/incident management system.
- Ensures that social services personnel follow all client reporting procedures in a timely manner; WITHIN 24 HOURS.
- Ensures all health and safety guidelines including staff CPR/First AID Certifications, Fire Safety Coordinator trainings, and Mandated Reporting training are all in compliance.
- Maintains CPR/ First Aid and Mandated Reporter Certification on annual basis.
- Monitor the integrity of consumer data and ensures that internal chart reviews are conducted on a consistent and regular basis.
- Participate in professional development and training through agency-wide in-service trainings, outside trainings, and facilitates in-house trainings for staff.
- Participate in and monitors the recruitment, hiring, and selection of direct care and supervisory personnel.
- Facilitate periodic staff meetings and case conferences as appropriate.
- Monitor the provision of and documentation of all services provided to consumers.
- Reviews selected client case records to ensure that services provided are in accordance with adequate Independent Living Plans
- Participate in division management meetings as needed.
- On call 24 hours per day and ensure that there is a contingency plan in place.
- Ensure all interactions support the mission statement and core values of BVSJ.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- A work schedule that includes some weekend and evening hours will be required.
QUALIFICTIONS:
- A degree in the human services OR RELATED FILED. -OR-
- Five (5) years of management experience in a large shelter or residential facility that provides comprehensive social services, housing placement, and job skills training to the homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent populations.
- Knowledge of resources for housing, • Experience in NYC Dept. of Homeless Services contract requirements.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
