Job Summary
As an assistant to our physicians, your responsibility would be to ensure a smooth operation by preparing the operating room, providing sterile instruments and supplies during the procedure, and anticipating the needs of the physicians. You would be responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile environment that ensures a positive patient experience. Your duties may include setting up the operating room, preparing and transporting patients for surgery, adjusting lights and equipment, passing instruments and other supplies to physicians, and counting sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
Education and Experience
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a cath lab setting preferred.
Skills

- Strong understanding of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique.
- Prepare the OR for assigned surgeries by assembling sterile instrumentation, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and calibrate as needed.
- Assist with positioning and draping patients.
- Anticipate the physician's needs and readily provide requested instruments and supplies.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure.
- Count instruments and sponges before, during, and after surgery.
- Label and handle specimens according to established protocols.
- Assist with cleaning and restocking the OR after surgery.
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Stay current on surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterilization techniques.
- Participate in safety drills and maintain a high level of infection control awareness.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
