We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial operations.
**Position Overview:**
The Real Estate Accountant/Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial reconciliation and bookkeeping for our real estate transactions. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling current and past files, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing timely financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Reconcile all escrow and trust accounts regularly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all real estate transactions.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and ledgers.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations.
- Assist with audits and prepare documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with attorneys and escrow agents to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
- Support the preparation of tax documents and filings.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as an accountant/bookkeeper, preferably in the real estate or legal industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Quicken, Qualia) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
