Job Title: Inventory Specialist
Location: Decatur, GA
Reports to: Operations Manager
Job Purpose: Ensure accurate inventory management and control to support efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and transactions using inventory management software/systems.
- Conduct regular audits to reconcile physical stock with records and investigate discrepancies.
Receiving and Shipping:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and ensure proper storage.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items for delivery.
Stock Organization:
- Organize and maintain warehouse or storage areas to optimize space and facilitate efficient stock retrieval.
- Rotate stock and manage expiry dates to minimize waste and ensure freshness (if applicable).
Inventory Analysis and Forecasting:
- Analyze inventory levels and trends to anticipate demand and avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
- Assist in developing inventory strategies based on data analysis and market trends.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on inventory status, movements, and variances for management review.
- Maintain documentation of inventory transactions, including adjustments and transfers.
Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks on incoming and outgoing products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Initiate quality improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and optimize inventory processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Specialist or similar role, preferably in a warehouse or retail environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management software/systems (e.g., ERP, WMS).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma/GED required; additional education or certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- This position involves working in a warehouse environment.
- Physical demands may include lifting and moving heavy items, standing for extended periods, and operating equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
